Woodlands Waterway Arts Festival
Announces Call for Charity Partners
Applications due Dec. 15, 2007
The Woodlands, TX – The Woodlands Waterway Arts Festival is looking for charity partners participate in and benefit from the third annual event set for April 12 and 13, 2008, along The Woodlands Waterway® in The Woodlands Town Center. Festival charity partners are asked to provide volunteer support for the event enjoyed by thousands of visitors each year. Any Montgomery County 501 (c) 3 organization having an involvement with the arts and/or arts-related program may apply to be a charity partner of the festival. Selected charity partners receive a portion of the net proceeds of the festival based on the number of volunteer event hours provided by the organization. The deadline to apply for the 2008 festival is Dec. 15, 2007.
The Woodlands Waterway Arts Council Board reviews all charity partner applications and applicants will be notified by Jan. 1, 2008. Selected applicants are awarded charity partner status for a two-year period, which include the 2008 and 2009 festivals. Current charity partners should submit a letter of interest by the Dec. 15 deadline if they would like to be considered for renewal. The Woodlands Waterway Arts Festival is a juried fine art show featuring 200 national and regional artists of various mediums selling their original creations. Festival hours are 10 a.m. - 8 p.m. Saturday and 10 a.m. - 6 p.m. Sunday. Admission is $10 for adults. Children 12 and under are admitted free of charge.
The third annual Woodlands Waterway Arts Festival is presented by The Woodlands Waterway Arts Council, a nonprofit organization with its own Board of Directors, an Advisory Committee and more than 600 community volunteers. Proceeds from the event provide funding for educational outreach, art scholarships and art nurturing the arts.
