The 5th Annual Woodlands Waterway Arts Festival, April 10-11, 2010, is a juried fine art festival featuring 200 national and regional artists selling their original creations along a 1.25 mile waterway and waterside park in this affluent community.

Art patrons enjoy ample free parking, trolleys, water taxis and a spectacular venue. Enhanced by the gracious hospitality of The Woodlands, this is a Festival everyone enjoys. Performance stages provide ongoing performing arts.  Children enjoy interactive art activities. Fabulous food offerings from select area restaurants celebrate the art of cuisine.
Proceeds from the Festival benefit local charity partners involved in bringing greater fine arts experiences to the community.

Artists set up along a concrete landscaped path beside the waterway that runs through The Woodlands Town Center. From The Marriott Waterway Hotel and Convention Center the path meanders alongside The Cynthia Woods Mitchell Pavilion and into Town Green Park.

The Woodlands is a master-plan development community, home to 90,000 people and over 2,000 businesses 27 miles north of Houston. The Woodlands offers artist patrons with buying power. The Woodlands Town Center is a regional draw for more than 1 million people located in North Houston and Montgomery County. 

We invite participating artists to become one of our VIP Artists at our 2010 festival by donating a work of your art valued at $150 or more to our Friday Evening VIP event. As a VIP Artist you will get special recognition before and during the festival.

On Friday evening, April 9 you and a guest will be invited to our VIP 60-Second Art Dash Event at The Woodlands Waterway Marriott benefiting student art scholarships and educational outreach programs. Artists who participated in our VIP Art Lottery last year commented that not only was it a great party with fabulous food and drink, but it was also a prime opportunity to mix with our community leaders and art patrons. Don't miss this unique event!

Also, as a VIP Artist your work will be featured on our festival website, giving others a special preview of your work and how to locate you at the festival. 

We hope that you choose to be a VIP Artist by donating an original work of your art.   Tickets for the event are $100 per person and lottery tickets are $100 each. Of course, your event tickets are complimentary. We want you to come and enjoy!

The Woodlands Waterway Arts Festival in Town Center is presented by The Woodlands Waterway Arts Council, a non-profit organization with Board of Directors, Advisory Committee and more than 500 community volunteers. Proceeds from the event provide funding for educational outreach, art scholarships and art nurturing the arts.
           
Please read the prospectus in its entirety. Artists applying are responsible for the information contained herein. The show reserves the right to refuse any application and rescind an extended invitation should the artist misrepresent himself or herself.

Artists may apply once per medium, collaborating artists may apply to participate at the event, but only joint work may be shown and sold. Both names must appear on all applications materials and both artists must contribute to the creation of the art pieces.

2010 The Woodlands Waterway Arts Festival Important Dates

January 30, 2010– Commitment for Friday Night VIP Event.  Artists donating pieces will be featured on the website.

February 11, 2010– Booth Placement notification / Any open artist positions will be offered to waitlist artists.

February 15, 2010– Website updated with artists directory and booth numbers. VIP Artists who have donated a piece for Friday VIP event will be featured with an image of their work on the website.

February 15, 2010- Cancellation Full Refund (Cancellation must be in writing, emails will be sufficient)

February 22, 2010- Cancellation (50% refund). (Cancellation must be in writing, emails will be sufficient)

March 1, 2010- Cancellation (25% refund). (Cancellation must be in writing, emails will be sufficient)

March 10, 2010- Cancellation with no refund.

March 22, 2010– Deadline for donating to VIP Friday Night  and receiving pre-event promotion on www.woodlandsartsafestival.com .   All donations after March 8 will receive all other benefits from event.  Website feature offering expires.

April 8, 2010– Artist Check-in open. Artist move in 7a to 8p

April 9, 2010– Artist Check-in 8am to 6pm

April 8, 2010– Donated items turned in at check-in or at the Marriott.

April 9, 2010– 7pm to 10pm  VIP 60-Second Art Dash Event,  The Woodlands Waterway Marriott

Artists Agreement:

      I/we certify that I/we am/are the artist who creates the work I/we sell and are not an artist representative or wholesaler. I/we understand all booths will be visited by the viewing committee at intervals throughout the festival to ensure that all exhibitors comply with all festival rules.
      I/we further agree to abide by all regulations outlined in this agreement, the load-in and load-out instructions, security procedures, or any rule promulgated by the Executive Director. I/we acknowledge that failure to abide by regulations and repeated non-compliance will result in expulsion and ineligibility for judging, awards, and participation in future festivals. Expulsion of a participant from the festival is without the necessity of any written notice and without legal recourse or right to rebate any portion of the fees paid.
       I/we participants, our heirs, successors and assigns agree to release and hold harmless The Woodlands Waterway Arts Council, The Woodlands Town Center Improvement District, The Woodlands Waterway Arts Festival, and The Woodlands Development Corporation, their board of directors, staff, sponsors and affiliated charity partners and their heirs, successors, and assigns for any loss of property or physical harm, including, but not inclusive, of weather damage or cancellation due to weather . I/we further agree to waiver any and all rights without limitation on liability for the use of the festival space and service described in printed materials. I/we grant permission to The Woodlands Waterway Arts Council, to reprint an image for promotional use of The Woodlands Waterway Arts Festival. This includes the use in press releases, print, television, and the festival web site. In printed use, I will be acknowledged with credit.
