Festival News
If you were an artist at our 2011 show, you are well aware of the wonderful weather, the record crowd, and the great sales. For this 'down' economy our surveyed artists averaged over $5000 in sales during our 2 day festival.
Not sure how the economy is going, but it looks like every year the residents of The Woodlands and South Montgomery County are getting more involved and more excited about art in our community. The 2011 Festival had a record attendance of 16,000 patrons, sponsors and volunteers!
Any of you that contributed a piece of art to the VIP Art Dash - another heartfelt THANK YOU from all of us on the Waterway Arts Festival Council and Committee. We have given away $21,000 to student scholarship recipients this year!
We are excited to introduce our newest staff member, Cynthia Reid. She will hold the position of Artist Management. Cynthia is an artist/educator and a former volunteer with the Festival. She brings knowledge of a variety of art processes and materials, experience in coordinating events, as well as energy and enthusiasm to the job. Cynthia looks forward to working with artists of the high caliber that the Festival attracts, and is thrilled to be involved with an event that benefits the community.
Welcome Cynthia!

The Woodlands is a master-plan development community, home to 90,000 people and over 2,000 businesses 27 miles north of Houston. The Woodlands offers artist patrons with buying power. The Woodlands Town Center is a regional draw for more than 1 million people located in North Houston and Montgomery County.
We invite participating artists to become one of our VIP Artists at our 2012 festival by donating a work of your art valued at $150 or more to our Friday Evening VIP event. As a VIP Artist you will get special recognition before and during the festival.
On Friday evening, April 13 you and a guest will be invited to our VIP 60-Second Art Dash Event at The Woodlands Waterway Marriott benefiting student art scholarships and educational outreach programs. Artists who participated in our VIP Art Lottery last year commented that not only was it a great party with fabulous food and drink, but it was also a prime opportunity to mix with our community leaders and art patrons. Don't miss this unique event!
Also, as a VIP Artist your work will be featured on our festival website, giving others a special preview of your work and how to locate you at the festival.
We hope that you choose to be a VIP Artist by donating an original work of your art. Tickets for the event are $100 per person and lottery tickets are $100 each. Of course, your event tickets are complimentary. We want you to come and enjoy!
The Woodlands Waterway Arts Festival in Town Center is presented by The Woodlands Waterway Arts Council, a non-profit organization with Board of Directors, Advisory Committee and more than 500 community volunteers. Proceeds from the event provide funding for educational outreach, art scholarships and art nurturing the arts.
