BAM! Remember When and The Woodlands Mall Spotlight Gallery
BAM! invites the public to view an exhibition of three new murals at the Spotlight on the Arts Gallery at The Woodlands Mall. These murals were created by three community service and educational organizations under the direction of artist Vickie McMilllan and will be installed on August 25.
One mural titled “Remember When,” was created by 20 senior members of The Woodlands and incorporates memories of by-gone days and historical events in their lives. Another mural, “The Art of Baseball,” was created at The Cynthia Woods Mitchell by high school art students and ORWAL baseball players on stage during a live performance of the symphony last April. A third mural is a floral motif created by youths with Tri-County Services, an organization serving individuals with mental illness and developmental issues.
Spotlight on The Arts Gallery is located on the second level of The Woodlands Mall adjacent to the Food Court and is open during mall hours.
“We are grateful for The Woodlands Mall to help us highlight these individuals and organizations and give them an opportunity to showcase their artwork,” said Brenda Gottlieb, BAM! co-chair. “We have found that art is a valuable means for healing and positive growth.”
